  • Painting a Black and White Painting
    By: Leonardo
    FREE 0
This is an old-school way to work: black and white on toned or colored paper. Its often called a wash drawing, and you can explore a range of values, and, in this case, textures. You'll need black watercolor OR some other dark color like brown, purple, green, or blue, along with an opaque white paint (I used acrylic paint). I think beginners or advanced-beginners will learn a lot from this project. Colors used in background: cadmium red light, cadmium yellow light, cadmium yellow medium, alizarine crimson, all by Old Holland. Black paint by Prang. White acrylic paint by Liquitex.

I'm going to make some chocolate truffles. So, I'm starting with, I have a chocolate ganache, and to this ganache I added just a little bit of rosewater. You can add any flavoring that you like, or you can just go with a straight chocolate ganache, which is boiled heavy cream, pour it over dark chocolate, and just whisk it together.

I am starting with my dark chocolate pistoles, which are these nice, round chips, but you can use any type of chocolate as long as it is a good quality chocolate that is going to melt down nice and viscous and will set up really nice with a good snap and sheen.
