Description

This video is part of the ‘Hysterical Literature’ series and depicts a young woman named Alicia, who introduces herself and explains she will be reading an excerpt from Walt Whitman’s poem ‘Leaves of Grass’. Within a minute or so of the reading it is clear that something is causing a slight smile across Alicia’s face, and this distraction seems to be getting more intense. It doesn’t take long to become quite clear that despite her efforts to hide it; something is making her feel pretty great, and it’s less likely Walt Whitman’s poetry than it is the ‘buzzing’ in the background.
